Organic Bins

June 5, 2023

The Southern Regional Council has provided 5 bins for organic waste collection, in the 5 cemeteries found in its localities. The Southern Regional Council is encouraging further waste seperation and with the provision of these bins, the separation of waste collection will take place even in our cemeteries.

Waste Separation is enforcable by law for everyone including businesses, governmental and non-governmental entities as well as private homes. This means that organic waste cannot be disposed of int he black bag. The same applies to recyclable waste such as plastic and paper and other materials which have to be separated and disposed of in the grey bag designated for recycling.

Kindly follow the municipal waste collection schedule for more information
